Responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the company's top enterprise risks across Exelon. Develop Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to an enterprise risk management framework. Ensure the respective organization's risk management policies, practices, and strategies comply with applicable guidelines, regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization. Establish the Enterprise Risk Management framework and architecture for the Operating Companies (OpCos). Oversee and monitor all risk management activities of the OpCo. Monitor and analyze risks and report on these risks to OpCo management (e.g., Utility Risk Management Committee) and/or OpCo board (e.g., Utility Board of Directors). Provide key inputs and analysis for, and present to, the Exelon Board of Directors’ Audit & Risk Committee or other board committees that oversee the enterprise risks

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that the company’s portfolio of risks is properly identified, characterized, valued and reported on a consistent and timely basis
  • Develop and promote adherence to risk policies, guidelines and procedures, model and risk system validation, risk assessment and measurement, and reporting
  • Support independent review of OpCo transactions and provide an enterprise risk perspective to corporate and OpCo projects


  • Enterprise risk governance and oversight of Exelon. (50%)
  • Strategic, financial, operational, regulatory and reputational risk management governance and oversight (20%)
  • Support utility and corporate capital project review and approval process (20%)
  • Robust, relevant and timely analysis communication with key stakeholders, including management (e.g., Exelon’s Chief Risk Officer, utility senior management) and the board (e.g., Exelon Audit & Risk Committee and BOD, Utility BOD (10%)


Reports to EVP, Compliance, Audit & Risk. Key internal constituents and contacts include the Exelon and Utility executive leadership, Corporate Strategy, Communications, Government Relations and Public Policy groups, Finance, Exelon Audit Services, Compliance & Ethics



  • MBA or higher degree with a preferred undergraduate major in Business or related field of study and 12 years of experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience specifically in the energy industry with roles involving enterprise and financial risk management
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively build and manage high-performing teams, as well as develop and maintain effective working relationships across organizations
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills through executive level
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including ability to influence, negotiate, manage conflict, drive collaboration, and facilitate cross-functional, matrixed groups


  • Ability to link company strategy and the risk management implications
  • Self-starter and highly motivated
  • Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing and work effectively across business units and functional groups, and at many levels of the Corporation
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • Ability to resolve conflict
