PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs and/or manages activities relating to planning, designing, building, and maintaining IT services, projects, portfolios, products and processes. Creates and assigns detailed tasks to subordinates. Has budget responsibility for a small project, sub-project or process component. Expected to work under minimal supervision.
The Office of the CIO (CIO) is charged with leading the IT transformation and building an organization that ensures the standardization of processes and tools, that enable the effective and efficient delivery of IT solutions to our business partners. The Service Portfolio Management and Projects Office (SPMPO) within the OCIO plays an instrumental role in driving IT wide project, portfolio, resource, financial and organizational change management standards, processes, tools and governance that consistently deliver the desired business outcomes.
The Senior Service Analyst, Demand and Resource Management will be responsible for helping to drive standards for IT’s annual business planning process with focus on strategic alignment, prioritization, demand intake and resource management. This role will make significant contributions to driving continuous improvements and adoption of standards, processes and tools required for successful planning and execution of various business needs and IT commitments. In addition to providing thought leadership, with an enterprise perspective.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist Manager in IT annual business planning process in alignment with IT management model and BSC wide requirements including but not limited to:
- Provide guidance and support for benchmarking and chart of account analysis for Exelon IT key performance indicators (KPI’s) relative to Gartner’s Industry KPI’s to evaluate performance and identify potential improvement areas.
- Provide guidance and support for integrated planning with Exelon business units is done through strategic alignment sessions with Business Partners to determine expected project/initiatives based on business drivers, desired outcomes and priorities.
- Provide guidance and support for CFAM/IFAM/Peer Group continuous improvement reviews of existing initiatives, processes, projects and Strategic Focus Areas to determine if any course corrections/adjustments are required.
- Support and drive IT wide process, standards, tools and governance for strategic/project demand management and operational demand management to enable consistent and effective demand intake with focus on up-front strategic alignment, prioritization, long range planning, and optimization of baseline and project demand requests.
- Support and drive IT wide process, standards, tools and governance for strategic/project resource management and operational/baseline resource management to enable consistent and effective resource capacity planning, utilization and allocation of to meet various business needs.
- Support the Sub-Function Area Manager (SFAM) for the Business Planning, Demand Management and Resource Management, Management Model core function. Driving continuous improvements and adoption of standard Management Model processes and procedures.
- Lead reporting and analysis providing organizational transparency into data required to drive the right conversation and enable fact-based decision making.
- Perform, manage and appropriately document work activities relating to IT service portfolios or products in support of our business partners. Lead IT activities required to manage service level agreements. Assist others in planning and prioritizing work and work schedule.
- Assist in creation of documentation for products and services. Use best practices to improve products and services provided to business unit partners, and monitor adherence within Team/Group to standards as defined within the Management Model
- Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners and other stakeholders
- Establish positive team environment by proactively assisting and training less experienced personnel. Provide performance and development feedback as required
- Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function
POSITION SCOPE
- Utilize understanding of customer's business needs to determine requirements
- Applies technical expertise to plan, design, build or support required products and processes
- Help other team members learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio
- As assigned, manage budget for area of responsibility
- As assigned, manage working relationship with outsourcing partners
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 to 8 years experience in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience with ServiceNow Demand and Resource Management modules
- Experience and deep knowledge of benchmarking and planning methodologies, standards, governance and support.
- Demonstrated strategy planning and customer engagement skills and experience leading teams and people through change.
- Proficiency with data analysis in Microsoft Excel
- Experience leading small IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management (PMP Certification preferred).
- Strong problem solving and analysis ability.
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work with remote project teams
