PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Chief Flight Technician is the point first point of contact on aircraft discrepancies for flight technicians in determining aircraft return to service. Supervises onsite flight technicians and schedules their shifts and time off schedules to support the scheduled flight operations. Serves as first point of contact for aircraft issues when off-site, including coordinating contract maintenance support to make sure aircraft are returned to service in a safe and efficient manner to recover any loss flight operations. Serves as Chief of Maintenance (COM) when COM is offsite or out of communication for all technical, regulatory, executive communications.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Performs day to day first line supervision of the on-site Flight Technicians at the (West) DuPage Hangar Directly supervise Flight Technicians. (40%)
  • Provides as point of contact with outside vendors on tooling, aircraft service, hangar upgrades, and general facility maintenance vendors. (10%)
  • Oversee the order placement, receipt and shipping of aircraft parts and materials per company, FAA, and IATA standards. (10%)
  • Monitor, project, and oversee all aircraft off-site maintenance and keeping to company budgetary requirements. Perform activities to ensure appropriate communication between Chief of Maintenance is achieved for the scheduled departure dates and changes are applied. (5%)
  • Supervise and at times perform the arrival and departure duties including but not limited to assisting passengers, loading and crew servicing coordination efforts. (30%)
  • Oversees yearly operational budget for all aircraft and facility's in his assigned location, in which includes capital budget and Operational Budgets. (5%)

JOB SCOPE
  • Chief Flight technician is responsible for keeping company corporate aircraft to stringent high safety standards and to provide our senior executives with reliable and safe travel accommodations.
  • Chief Flight Technician is responsible to fill in for Chief of Maintenance when he is off site or on leave.
  • Forecast and builds budgets for each aircraft, shop tooling and supplies for next year and are responsible keeping to those budgets through the course of the fiscal year.
  • Keep to high levels of business attire both when working at the company facility and away to keep to the high levels of visibility our positions are to the organization.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • FAA A&P License(Violation Free) with completion of Inspector Authorization
  • 10 years Corporate Aircraft Maintenance Experience Company Aircraft Training
  • Microsoft Office and Apple IOS operating experience.
  • Previous Leadership Experience either as a Lead Technician in a team environment or Supervisor of a Team.
  • Interpersonal Skills dealing with People of various degrees of experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15 Years Corporate Aircraft Maintenance Experience Company aircraft past experience
  • Avionics/Airframe or Engine/Airframe Experience. Associate's Degree
  • Some Leadership Experience or Training (if not must attend Leadership course within 5 years of Assigned Duty).
