PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide daily management and operational oversight of the ICS Security Operations Center (ISOC). This includes primary accountability for quality, consistency, efficiency and accountability for the overall compliance with the performance goals of the ISOC.


POSITION SCOPE

Leads the ICS SOC to perform core function of security event monitoring for ICS/SCADA systems. Represents the ICS SOC to Business and Security leadership. Provides management oversight to ICS SOC, including primary performance evaluation of direct reports and second-level evaluation for front-line staff.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for overall management of the ICS SOC. 20%

Actively participate in Security Monitoring planning. 10%

Lead development and continuous improvement of ISOC-specific policies and procedures. 10%

Lead compliance-related policy & procedure reviews. 10%

Assess performance and creates guidance for performance remediation. 10%

Manage performance and conducts performance evaluations of direct reports and as second-level manager for front-line staff. 10%

Serve as Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) Manager. 5%

Communicate potential incidents to other Key Stakeholders. 5%

Create regular executive-level reports on security metrics. 5%

Oversee selection, hiring, and training of direct reports. 5%

Lead the development of reports on security incidents and response activities/methodologies. 5%

Prepare operating  and personnel budget for approval. 5%

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer science required; MA or MS in Computer Science or related technical field preferred.
Minimum 10 years IT or Cyber Security experience supporting security response activities
Minimum 3 years in technical leadership roles.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
General: Proficiency with office productivity suites.


General Info Security: Security Principles, Threat Lifecycle Management, Incident Management & Lifecycle, Familiarity with Industry Standards (NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, etc.) and Security operations best practices. Knowledge of network protocols (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol [TCP/IP], Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol [ DHCP] and directory services (e.g, Domain Name System [DNS], Active Directory). Knowledge of incident categories, incident responses, and timelines for responses.  Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies.  Knowledge of Digital Forensic and eDiscovery methodologies and processes.  Knowledge of Network Security monitoring and Cyber Security Systems Engineering best practices and operational processes.  Knowledge in Cyber Threat Intelligence and Cyber Threat tactical Intelligence operations.
