Provide technical expertise to support Unified Communication Operations team with hardware and software maintenance, support and optimization of the voice/video conference platforms and services. Includes client support, incident and change management queues and tools. Support of system hardware and software upgrades and patching. Provide IT teams and business personnel with technology solutions by weighing advantages of technology standards, market availability of products, risks and benefits of technology to meet business/IT needs. Expected to work under minimal supervision.

The Network Administrator will be expected to provide technical expertise to support the secure delivery and maintenance of network solutions supporting Exelon. Must have the ability to evaluate network/telecom services and make recommendations for supporting infrastructure service, application and data workloads within various hosting models. Demonstrate skills for basic monitoring, configuration and maintenance of current network services and related security controls, to primarily support site-based connectivity and real time control environments. This role will work in collaboration with other IT teams, their leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable network services serving as transport for services/applications throughout Exelon’s large and complex enterprise and real time operational environments.


  • Provide technical expertise and/or operations support for optimizing performance and reliability of the Unified Communications (voice/video conference) solutions.  Monitor incident and request queues for daily activities necessary to support the enterprise. Provide technical expertise and implement hardware/software platform upgrades or enhancements as directed by the Engineering team. Contribute to technical project activities including new builds or site decommission. Support on-call rotation.

    Assist IT Architecture and Engineering community in planning the introduction of Unified Communications Solutions and/or identifying the most appropriate technology choices to accomplish goals by utilizing Exelon’s standard governance process as outlined in the Management Model.  Ensure appropriate implementation and operational turnover of technology within the production environments. 

    Build and maintain knowledge of new technologies or technology opportunities and assist in analysis of their use for business and/or IT clients.

    Review incident and request data for trends, seeking opportunities for automation of incident response or requests on UC platforms. 

    Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners.

    Utilize best practices to improve products and services. Apply and verify compliance to standards as defined within the Management Model.


  • Maintain deep knowledge of Unified Communications technology and its application across Exelon.
  • Maintain incident, tasks and request management queues for the Unified Communications Operations team.
  • Participate in 24x7x365 support of the Enterprise Unified Communications environment. Includes participation in on-call rotation.
  • Provide Operations support of internal and business unit sponsored project activities, new builds, enhancements, or upgrades, during the evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Maintain and/or implement new software/firmware updates on Enterprise Unified Communications platforms to meet security, regulatory or compliance standards.
  • Promote knowledge via seminars, presentations and publications within IT and Exelon.
  • Participate in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems
  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Platforms – Cisco Unity, Unified Communication Manager, Cisco WebEx Video Conferencing, Oracle Session Boarder Controllers and Enterprise Communication Broker, Nectar Foundations.




    • Bachelor’s degree and typically 3-5 years’ operational experience in support of Cisco UC-Unified Communication platforms for Voice and Video services. Experience with incident management, maintenance, and support of the UC platforms within a large-scale Enterprise environment.
    • Broad technical knowledge in the areas Cisco Webex Collaboration systems. Includes Desk, Room and Board series solutions hosted in the Cisco Webex Cloud. Experience with Cisco Unity, Cisco UCM-Unified Communications Voice platforms. Understanding of Call Control, Session Border Controllers, Voice Gateways, Video Conference and supporting protocols within the Unified Communications environment.
    • Excellent communications skills - Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal).
