PRIMARY PURPOSE OF
POSITION
The
primary goal of an Exelon’s Team Digital Sr Product Analyst is to protect and
manage the movement of releases through the build, test, and production
environments. The Sr Product Analyst ensures there’s proper structure in place
to allow the company to scale efficiently.
The
Sr Product Analyst will interface and communicate with test managers,
development managers, IT operations, and the PMO daily.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Identify appropriate IT solutions and strategies that support
business unit strategies and accomplish goals.
- Apply knowledge of key business unit processes, systems, and
initiatives and maintains knowledge of industry and IT trends. Contribute to
strategy development.
- Acts
as the gatekeeper to lower and production environments, ensuring consistency in
policies and operational procedures, release integration testing and production
validation.
- Facilitate
cross-department coordination of release management functions.
- Measure
release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across the entire
software portfolio.
- Create
common standards and formats for release playbooks and work with production
control to standardize release decision-making.
- Define
common mechanisms for rollback and standards for capturing release-related
performance indicators.
- The position will be responsible
for enforcing, maintaining, and auditing the current code deployment processes.
- Perform impact assessment of
environment changes and collaborate with application teams to minimize the
risk.
- Scheduling,
coordinating and managing releases through all stages of development and
deployment.
- Collaborate
and communicate with Test Managers, Development Managers, IT Operations on
daily basis to ensure task completion.
- Responsible
for evaluating tools and implementing a new and automated tracking process for
future releases.
- Create
a communication plan for releases across the EU Digital team and with business
groups effected.
Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 to 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Appropriate technical skills in web services and associated integrations to mainframe applications.
- Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in Azure DevOps.
- Experience leading and managing IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.
- Strong judgment and excellent analytical ability.
- Experience with process development.
- Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of IT and business management and with vendors.
- Experience with both waterfall and agile delivery methods desired. Collaborate with developers, project managers, and test engineers
Preferred:
- Familiarity/strong interest in Agile and Design Thinking methodologies
- Agile Certification
- Project Management Certification
- Change Management Training or Certification
