PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
 

Provide project management expertise to help lead the PMO and their processes for large projects in the Customer area. Provide IT teams and business personnel with financial information needed to support the project. 

 

The ideal candidate for this position is experienced with managing projects using the Exelon processes and leadership abilities. The role represents project management to help realize the business value, coordinates resolution risks, dependencies, issues and assists in the preparation of leadership presentations. Expected to work under minimal supervision.

 
 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 

Lead Meter Data Management (MDM) workstream and adhere to the proper Exelon governance and authorization processes are being followed. 

 

Ensure proper accounting treatment is followed and monitor adherence to corporate policies and procedures.

 

Manage integrated project plan and ensure work stream is tracking to plan.  Proactively communicate and identify options to address schedule/scope/cost issues that arise.

 

Document change requests and schedule/scope/cost/business value associated with them.

 

Assist with project status reporting leveraging the Service Now platform and other supporting tools.

 

Define and manage project risks, actions, issues, and dependencies for the workstream.

 

In partnership with business lead and project financial analyst manage resource plan.

 

Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners.

Find areas for improvement in process and quality.

 
 
POSITION SCOPE:
 

The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project budgets, team performance and developing strategic plans to implement projects for the Customer area.

 

Responsibilities also include managing scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters and providing structured and detailed reports to the appropriate Management team.

 

Tasks include but are not limited to, ensuring the completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, project reporting, project financial analysis and relationship management with external customers, vendors and regulatory agencies. 



Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

 
Minimum:
 

Bachelor’s degree and CAPM, typically 7-10 years’ experience managing projects.

 

Excellent communications skills - able to effectively translate business requirements for subsequent development efforts

 
Understanding of project management principles

5 Years of Managing Projects experience
 
Preferred:
 
Unix and Windows server administration
 

Customer Information System application knowledge (Customer/1 a plus)

 
Server scripting experience
 
Familiarity with change management and release management
 
Strong problem solving and analysis ability
 

Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and ability to work with remote teams
