PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

 

 

 

 

The role of The Park Change Lead is to help determine and implement a change strategy and plan for The Park, creating change management standards that will be used by every project in The Park. The Park Change Lead will manage change at all levels, from project teams to leadership.

 

 

 

 

The Park is a new program that will transform Exelon Utilities IT service delivery through end-to-end focused portfolios of work dedicated to business outcomes, realizing substantial benefits to Exelon. The Park is beginning in January 2020 with the first wave of pilot projects. As a member of The Park team, you will be an integral part of The Park’s evolving design, providing regular feedback and input to help us build the best solution possible for Exelon. Once The Park has been established, your role and responsibilities shift to focus on the operations and management of The Park.

 

 

 

 

The individual within the role should be a strategic, critical thinker who is able to:

 

 

 

-Effectively translate business strategy into practical organizational change, communication, and training strategies

 

 

 

-Effectively manage relationships within the matrixed organization

 

 

 

-Resolve and coordinate complex issues associated with driving change within IT

 

 

 

-Proactively advocate for and work to ensure adequate organizational change funding and resources for The Park programs and projects

 

 

 

-Serve as a conduit of The Park to cascade important messaging and ensure awareness and readiness for change

 

 

 

-Support governance activities across The Park and it’s stakeholders

 

 

 

-Participate in Change Management IFAM activities representing The Park

 

 

 

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

 

 

Build strong relationships with IT leaders to become a trusted advisor to Park Stakeholders, providing strategic change and communication support with the goal of helping the IT organization achieve its strategic objectives and meet their complex communication needs; enterprise-wide impacts and scope. 

Oversight and Support

 

 

 

-Oversee the progress of Park OCM programs and projects and report to Park Leadership

 

 

 

-Mitigate program and projects issues and risks as needed

 

 

 

-Participate as a Park IFAM to share status and gain insight into other IT functional area programs and projects

 

 

 

-Facilitate OCM resource staffing based on demand requests.  Help build content and for and perform actual onboarding for Park team members and Park project team members.

 

 

 

-Help with the Service Portfolio Owner role transformation

 

 

 

-Partner with OCM practitioners to ensure alignment to OCM methodology, process, standards and tools.

 

 

 

-Change and Communication Strategy and Design

 

 

 

-Help build the change and communication strategy working closely with external Park Partners.  Ensure strategy aligns with overall Park objectives and other sub team activities as one integrated program. 

 

 

 

-Lead Change Assessment Consultations in concert with the OCMO Operational Change lead as appropriate for The Park implementation and for project executing within The Park

 

 

 

-Compile synthesized view of high-level findings from the Change Assessment discussions for the project team and leadership and provide change overview and recommendations for continuous improvement

 

 

 

-Utilize Exelon Prosci standards for Park implementation activities.  Ensure Park project teams are utilizing Prosci standards for IT projects executed within The park

 

 

 

-Support staffing efforts to align change, communications, and training resources to programs and projects

 

 

 

-Support Park management team head count tracking (10-20 FTE total)

Change and Communication Development and Delivery

 

 

 

-Primary responsible role to execute The Park change and communication strategy and deliverables

 

 

 

-Design and develop visually appealing graphic content to achieve change and communication strategies and objectives

 

 

 

-Develop change and communications strategies that inform, engage, and persuade employees and support overall organizational change initiatives

 

 

 

-Execute change and communication strategy for organizational changes and specific Park function events (i.e., All-Hands and roadshow meetings, organizational announcements, kickoff meetings, etc)

 

 

 

-Stay current with communications methods and technologies and recommend use as appropriate


Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

 

 

 

Minimum:

 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Change Management, Communications/Marketing, IT or related discipline. (Master’s Degree preferred).

 

 

 

8 to 10+ year’s experience in Organizational Change Management and/or Communication field and/or IT.

 

 

 

Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.  Able to simplify the complex, making it easy for people to understand the changes, what they need to do, and how to succeed.

 

 

 

Experience/knowledge of Organizational Change Management principles, methodologies, and tools. 

 

 

 

Exceptional communication skills, able to express messages in different ways to facilitate a better understanding.  

 

 

 

Able to plan, develop and deliver creative, visually impactful, consistent messages in a systematic, ongoing manner, involving the right people at the right time.

 

 

 

Instructional design skills, able to execute training needs analysis, develop curriculum maps, design and develop training materials, and execute training programs.

 

 

 

Experience influencing and shaping leadership decision making, ensuring leaders are committed to goals, aligned with program plans, and mobilized to provide active and visible sponsorship.

 

 

 

Excellent active listening skills adapts communications style as needed to best suit the audience and situation.  Agile, with a learning mindset.

 

 

 

Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast, complex, and changing environment.
