PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

 

 

Lead IT activities for Operational Technologies Security Control Project.   Engage, along with IT director, with Exelon Business Units in the equipment refreshment and implementing the security controls. Partner with business clients and IT leadership in the development of the strategic plan and investment strategy that meets the needs of the business while leveraging standard enterprise practices. Participate on committees that guide product strategies and security controls program. Lead a team of information technology professionals responsible for providing a single point of contact with the business, understanding business processes, technology needs and requirements and translating business requirements into appropriate technology solutions. Lead the program and project delivery of medium to large sized projects to support the overall business program, maintaining top quartile on-time on- budget delivery. Participate in the overall leadership of Information Technology organization.

 

 

Create and maintain strategic relationship with key IT vendors and manage IT vendor contracts that support this specific business segment.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

 

Lead IT activities for Operational Technologies Security Control Project – includes leading and managing IT staff and resources in accordance with IT Business to deliver projects of medium to high complexity.   Partner with the business on strategic and program dimensions. Plan and manage scope, schedule, and budget for defined deliverables in accordance with IT project management standards. Develop project requirements, budgets and schedules, facilitate requirements gathering.  Establish milestones, anticipate issues and monitor adherence to project scope, requirements and design document, schedules. Ensure that the program objectives are completed on time and within budget and that all deliverables are of the highest quality.

 

 

Establish & Maintain relationships with business clients and IT partners. Ensure business processes and requirements are identified and well understood.  Participate on teams, committees and forums that drive investment and strategy for the supported program.  Communicate to key stakeholders on a regular basis, escalate risks as appropriate.

 

 

Drive process improvement and lead adoption of standard Management Model processes and procedures, which deliver sustainable top quartile cost and performance levels.

 

 

Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel.  Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, and a learning organization.  Provide input on development and retention processes for IT employees.

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

 

 

Minimum:

 

- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (e. g. Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering).

 

 

- Typically 10 or more years of experience in leading and managing multiple solutions teams at the manager level or higher.

 

- Demonstrated success in leading and managing IT infrastructure projects or programs .

 

 

- Demonstrated ability to present and discuss complex technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and approval.

 

 

- Demonstrated strategic planning and customer engagement skills and experience leading teams and people through change.

 

 

- Excellent consultative skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. Advanced interpersonal skills, communications skills, and presentation skills.  Works effectively with all levels of IT & business management and with vendors.

 

 

- Financial acumen and experience in managing project and operational budgets.

 

 

- Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in area of specialty.

 

 

 

Preferred:

 

 

-Graduate degree in Project Management, Informational Systems, Computer Science or Business Administration

 

 

-Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

 

 

-Experience in fiber optic, data networking or telecommunication projects

 

 

 

-Experience in the electric utility industry or telecom industry

 

 

 

-Agile project management experience and/or either of the following certifications:  PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) ®

 

 

 

Position Scope:

 

-Total Staff Managed:  10 to 40 (direct, indirect, and project team)

 

 

-Budget Management for overall program (multiple projects) specific to area of accountability

 

 

-Manage technical/business complexity and risk in a business-critical program

 

 

-Lead engagement with the business and the broader IT organization in delivering overall program

 

 

-Participate in the overall leadership of Information Technology organization

.

 

-Typically reports to Director or Vice President.
