Exelorate Growth is Exelon’s enterprise-wide program building startups within the company to fuel organic growth and customer-centric differentiation. Exelorate Growth is sponsored and governed by the Growth Board, comprising Exelon’s CEO, CFO, the CEOs of our business units and OpCos (including Exelon Utilities and GenCo), and the leaders of Strategy and Innovation. We are hiring a Senior Analyst Founder to join our Sustainable Communities Opportunity Area team, specifically working on the ongoing development of our startup EcoCRED. Featured by Apple as one of the Top 5 Apps on Earth Day, EcoCRED helps individuals engage with and learn about their carbon footprint while gamifying and rewarding behavioral changes and new carbon-reducing habits. The Exelorate Growth - Senior Analyst Founder will support the Founder in growing EcoCRED from its current user base of 20,000 users as we seek to the double bottom line of revenue growth and climate change mitigation through an active user community.
  1. Sectoral/thematic understanding and idea generation (Discover):
  • Develop & maintain a holistic view of the Sustainability, Carbon, and Individual User Engagement Opportunity Areas through market sector analysis including industry and market trends, problem sizing, value chain, customers, competitors and business models
  • Help drive the vision for Exelon’s role and opportunities

2. Support experimentation and commercial development to refine and prove the business viability and potential (Validate):

  • Identify and prioritize Key Assumptions underpinning the solution and business model
  • Assist in design and executions of experiments that can quickly, inexpensively and conclusively validate/invalidate the key assumptions
  • become the expert in developing customer relationships, research plans, and programs to test and validate hypotheses through an iterative series of rigorous experiments
  • Adopt & leverage the Exelorate Growth mindset to:
  • operate with speed and economy
  • unearth human & market insights and develop prototypes
  • Support the development of dynamically adapt business models for concepts where problem-solution hypotheses have been validated
  • Drive user growth through direct (B2C) and indirect (B2B2C) channels
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on monetization engine and potential
  • Work with the Founder on medium- and long-term strategy, including the financial model and economics of the business model
  • Synthesize data and track validation metrics to understand team progress
  • Work with a broader internal and external team collaboratively

3. results (Report & Collaborate):

  • Help prepare regular presentations to the Executive Sponsor about assumptions, experiments, results, and progress towards the goals
  • Support the preparation for presentations to executive management at quarterly Exelorate Growth Board meetings on insights, investment milestones and funding requirements
  • Share learnings & spark collaboration with peers across the company through Exelon’s Reinvent platform and other networking activities
  • Work with peers and leadership across the organization to ensure alignment on and complementarity of activities to promote broader impact tied to Sustainability


  • 5-8 years of experience in an entrepreneurial or changing environment
  • Self-starter capable of acting with high degree of autonomy
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to navigate different levels of the organization, solicit feedback, and turn that into constructive next steps
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion with the proven ability to drive ambitious change in a large corporation by collaborating with colleagues across different businesses
  • High level of comfort navigating ambiguous and unregimented opportunities
  • The ability to break down complex problems into hypotheses, develop clear plans for validation, and to tie results to insights and concept refinement
  • Prior success managing consumer experiments, including customer discovery, in-market testing, and product/market fit
  • Experience building and managing mobile apps
  • Experience in consumer-facing digital businesses or products
  • Experience with business development with corporates, universities, governments, and other institutions
  • Deep personal passion for entrepreneurship & sustainability
  • Affinity for creative thinking
  • Ability to use data and evidence to tell a compelling story
  • Ability to work with technical resources
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field
