Perform activities relating to Exelon's Financial Applications, with a two-part focus.  Primary focus is on managing enhancements and small project work.  Secondary focus is an architectural focus and the need to develop a functional and technical understanding of a subset of Exelon’s core financial applications.  Will work under the guidance of a Manager, but is expected define their own work as well as the work of others.  Will work directly with business end users and coordinate the tasks of other IT groups.  Proper project management skills, architectural skills, and technical skills are required.





- Perform, document and assist in planning work activities relating to IT Operations, projects, sub-projects, or processes. For Projects: analyze requirements, then design, build, and test IT software solutions in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations/application maintenance: enhance, maintain or support existing IT products and processes to the defined service level agreement.  Create and maintain a project plan and schedule and drive resources and activities to stay on schedule.


- Manage meetings with various teams: business, IT, vendors, etc.  Create meeting notes and keep an issue, decisions list.


- Maintain engagement with business and IT partners.


- Proactively build business/IT knowledge to provide solutions.


- Utilize best practices to improve products and services. Apply and verify compliance to standards as defined within the Management Model.




- Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems / computer science, with minor in Business or Finance and typically 5 to 7 years related experience in system analysis and software troubleshooting and problem-solving experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.


- Preferred Technical Knowledge: Experience with UNIX, Windows Server and Citrix Server technologies as well as Java/J2EE concepts and current trends in the industry, as well as with emerging technologies.


- Preferred Project Management Knowledge: Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle: requirements; design; development; test; release; and support.


- Preferred Project Management Experience: 5 to 7 years directly managing small enhancements or small projects – either in whole or large component pieces.


- Understanding of application architectures and prior experience with triage of production issues and reconciliation of financial data.


- Knowledge of service-based architecture.


- Experience with code build tools such as Maven, Ant, version controls software, etc.


- Intermediate level experience with Oracle Suites of Applications such as, Peoplesoft GL/EPM, Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, FDM and/or FDMEE, Financial Reporting and Smart View.


- Knowledge/understanding of ETL process, tools such as Informatica/ODI.


- Concept/understanding of job scheduling, batch scripting using Unix.


- Strong problem-solving skills.


- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).


- May be required to provide support after hours, when needed.
