PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This role will interface and engage with key IT and OpCo leaders to create transparency around the cost-effective delivery of IT services to our customers in alignment with business needs and objectives. Manages activities related to the planning around designing, building, and maintaining IT services, projects, portfolios, and processes in alignment with financial standards.

The Office of the CIO (OCIO) is charged with leading the IT transformation and building an organization that ensures the standardization of processes and tools, that enable the effective and efficient delivery of IT solutions to our business partners. The IT Investment and Financial Management organization within the OCIO plays an instrumental role in driving IT wide strategy by partnering with our customers and understanding the business needs and technical landscape while ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services and investments to the business through management of the IT LRP, monthly LE, equitable billing allocation, and cost optimization.

The Manager will be responsible for driving standards across IT specific to the annual Long-Range Plan (LRP) and monthly Financial Reporting processes, which may include, but not limited to, baseline and project financials, investment authorization, equitable billing, and MYP filings. This role will be responsible for making significant contributions to driving continuous improvements and adoption of standards, processes and tools required for successful planning and execution of various business needs and IT commitments.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Management of $1.2B annual spend between baseline and projects across the IT organization in alignment with the IT Management Model, Utility, and BSC requirements which may include, but not limited to:
  1. Leverage Portfolio / IT knowledge and expertise to provide thought leadership and support across the organization (IT and OpCo Senior/Executive Leadership) spanning 10 Towers specific to Long-Range Planning and monthly Financial Reporting processes (planning, budgeting, and forecasting) to drive business results across Exelon and its 6 operating companies.
  2. Manage the analysis of IT service delivery financial outcomes/results tied to baseline and projects and report to IT Leadership, including KPI tracking and reporting. Provide thought leadership and recommendations in how to address problem areas and work with Senior Leadership to resolve.
  3. Own and govern standard templates, tools, and processes across 100+ stakeholders throughout Exelon.
  4. Manage support required for OpCo specific requests and MYP filings, ensuring the team is following established governance and control policies.
  • Own and drive IT wide process, standards, tools, and governance specific to baseline and project financials, investment authorization, equitable billing, and MYP filings in alignment with IT, Utility, and BSC standards.
  • Contribute to improvement plans and other operational strategies for improved business performance, efficiencies, and effective processes.
  • Provide organizational transparency into data required to drive the right conversation and enable fact-based decision making for Exelon and Utility C-Suite leaders.
  • Responsible for the growth and development of the team through ongoing coaching and mentoring. Provide real-time performance and development feedback.


JOB SCOPE

  • Utilize understanding of customer's business needs to determine requirements and help set direction.
  • Determine and helps others learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio and related sciences and disciplines.
  • Make judicious decisions in familiar and new situations and contributes to strategic decisions.
  • Represent business client's perspective with IT team
  • Dimensions: Span of control (generally 10), level of budget control, technical/business complexity, risk, criticality of assignment to business
  • Budget Management specific to area of accountability.
  • Operate independently with little or no supervision.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, etc.) and typically 8+ years of experience in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Broad knowledge of business process / technical expertise with in-depth knowledge of Finance and Business Planning activities
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and customer engagement skills and experience leading teams and people through change.
  • Proficiency with data analysis in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of IT and business management; proven ability to present to and communicate with Senior and Executive Leaders
  • Proven ability to apply strategic and critical thinking to problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work productively with diverse teams
  • Ability to work independently to advance assignments and drive efforts to completion.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree.
  • Project Management certification.
